Rock-A-Bye Baby

Synopsis
The eight-part CUTTING EDGE series, filmed at Oxford University, examines the skills, methods and attitudes necessary to be a top scientist. Each programme looks at the ‘cutting edge’ of scientific research in a particular discipline today. Here, a bioengineer applies his skills in and outside the lab to resolve the problems of cerebral haemorrhaging and cold stress in newborn babies. Shows field work in Nepal and Oxford and brings home the problems of applying sophisticated solutions in the Third World.
