River Must Live, The

Synopsis
Shows what happens when a river is overloaded with more waste than it can absorb, and the consequences to those who depend on it. Shows in microscopic detail the organisms which preserve the balance of life in a healthy river. The natural mechanism of self-purification is slow; it needs time and space. Too much waste in too short a space overloads the river, killing the micro-organisms which keep it clean. The river then becomes permanently polluted.
