Right to Be Understood, The

Synopsis
Aims to increase awareness of the need for clear communication; develop practical skills in working with interpreters; raise awareness of issues relating to equal opportunites and access to services. Based on three dramatised episodes, uses images of interpreting to show the problems that can arise in situations where interpreting is needed. The stories unfold simultaneously so that viewers can compare the approaches used when finding an interpreter; preparing for an interview, conducting an interview and debriefing.
