- Examines some of Kenya’s economic and ecological problems: cash crops which deprive local people of food, short-sighted agricultural policies which leave the earth impoverished and development schemes imposed from above. Argues that development is only sustainable if it recognises environmental constraints, addresses the basic needs of rural people and involves them in decision-making.
