Reaction Kinetics

Synopsis

Demonstrates some of the factors affecting reaction kinetics, leading to deductions of rate equations, rate determining steps, order, activation energies, molecularity and reduction mechanisms. Shows the effects of concentration variations, temperature and catalytic effects of light. Explains the method of studying rates by colorimetry. Raises the question of the mechanism of the ‘bluebottle experiment’.
