Rational Emotive Therapy 1

Synopsis
Shows Dr Albert Ellis and colleagues in actual, unstaged therapy sessions. Ellis discusses why he discarded traditional therapeutic approaches and how he developed rational emotional therapy. Illustrates the ABC paradigm as the therapists help clients overcome such problems as guilt, social anxiety and jealousy. Alternatives are offered to ‘catastrophizing’ and to destructive, irrational ‘self-talk’. Also features one of Ellis’ popular public workshops.
