Rash in Gambian Sleeping Sickness, The

Synopsis
The typical rash of Gambian trypanosomiasis is shown in two patients. They had developed two months after the appearance of a large purplish lesion on the ankle, which had been mistakenly diagnosed as erysipelas. The method of examination is demonstrated and the morphology of ‘T. gambiense’ is shown in a thin stained blood film.
