- Synopsis
- Profiles French painter, designer and ceramicist Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) and examines the variety and inventiveness of his work. Pierre Courthion, his biographer, offers insights into the artist’s optimistic personality. Also interviews some of Dufy’s patrons, dealers, models, and the descendants of people who worked with him. Discusses the importance of Dufy’s work in the decorative arts, especially ceramics, as well as his textile designs for fashion designer Paul Poiret in the 1920s.
