- Synopsis
- Reference edition: An unedited recording of a 65-minute lecture given by Professor Stuart Hall at Goldsmith’s College, London, on race and representation, followed by a 20-minute question and answer session. He argues that racism depends upon its discursive construction to accomplish its destructive function of classification, exclusion and repression. He articulates the implications for the struggle against racism in society of recognising race as a floating signifier.
