Basil Bunting: An Introduction to the Work of a Poet
- Synopsis
- The poet talks briefly about his long autobiographical poem ‘Briggflats’, published in 1968, and about the craft of poetry, but the majority of the film is devoted to his reading of extracts from the poem itself. The film observes Bunting’s daily routine, his return to Briggflats and the Quaker Meeting House, and shows the northern landscapes crucial to his work.
