Synopsis
An introduction to modulated current systems for DC tungsten inert-gas (TIG) welding. Opens with some general information about the basic TIG process, and then proceeds to the addition of pulses of current, superimposed on a low ‘background’ current. Practical applications are shown as a pointer to the industrial possibilities.*
