Pulp Future
- Synopsis
- Looks at locations across the world which can be seen as testbeds for a chaotic and anarchic future: China, where the potential for chaos is caused by environmental pressures, social inequity and the rush to development; Rio de Janeiro, where the privileged rich who already lock themselves away in ‘artificial cities’ in the suburbs, abandoning the rest of Rio to the chaos of the shanty towns with their drug barons and violence; Sierra Leone, a broken-down state where banditry and meaningless violence have taken over. But the industrialised world is not immune to this chaos, because the conditions that give rise to it are also replicating themselves in cities like Liverpool.
