Projectiles: Motion in More Than One Dimension

Synopsis

A problem is posed: for maximum range a shot putter of a given height and given speed of launch must launch at an optimal angle. An analogy to the shot putter is set up using a sloping table with air pucks acting as the shot. Images are tracked to show that the trajectory is a parabola and also to isolate the x and y motions.
