Project Nelcad

Synopsis
Aims to demonstrate the power of computer-aided design and numerically controlled manufacture in engineering. Takes the design of a mixed-flow pump as an example. Shows on-line teletypes, cathode-ray tube displays with light pen for graphical interaction between man and computer, and remote graph plotters. The film is in four integrated parts: hydraulic design, mechanical design and stress analysis, detail design and the numerically controlled production of components.*
