- Synopsis
- A series of teaching tapes dealiing with the doctor/patient relationship. The series consists of a preview/introduction tape and ten individual case studies which include the consultation as well as pre- and post-consultation interviews with each patient. The series aims 1) to explore, by means of interviews recorded before and after consultation with their GPs, patients’ views of illness and treatment; 2) to demonstrate the relationship between aspects of process in the consultation and the patients’ perception of the outcome; 3) to encourage health professionals to value the patients’ view of the illness; 4) to provide teachers of general practice with professionally recorded consultations.
