Powder Metallurgy

Synopsis
Powder metallurgy is a technology used for producing a wide range of parts from metal powders. This programme shows how the process of near-net shape forming reduces or elimates the need for secondary manufacturing operations, conserves metal and reduces costs. It examines the many advantages of working with metal powders - from design flexibility to the ability to produce net or near-net shaped parts. Illustrates the methods used to produce the metal powder for parts production - mechanical pressing, injection moulding and hot and cold isostatic pressing.
