Synopsis
Introduces traditional techniques used in the manufacture of pottery in the village of Gundiyali in Kutch, western India. The tools, techniques and designs that are used by the potters of Kutch today have survived for many centuries, and these slides highlight each stage of the vessel-making process, from the mining of the clay through to the final decoration and distribution of the pots.
