Portrait of a Poison
- Synopsis
- Examines the dangers of dioxin, a by-product in the manufacture of certain herbicides such as Agent Orange and the weedkiller 245T. Four thousand times more poisonous than arsenic, dioxin attacks the cells of the body causing a wide range of wilting diseases. Animal research points to disease in bone marrow, liver, testicles, as well as foetal deformities, abortions and cancer, with the same effects appearing in humans. Asks whether other equally devastating poisons are penetrating the environment.
