Pigment Epithelium of the Retina, The
- Synopsis
- Shows the pigment epithelium which is a single cell layer situated between the choroid and the external segment of the photoreceptors. It extends from the margin of the papilla to the ora serrata. The cells are shown to be cuboid, surrounded by a plasma membrane with a basal pole, two lateral surfaces and an optical pole. Shows other cells in the retina and their function concluding with a brief account of identifiable disorders.
