Picasso, The Sculptor
- Synopsis
- Survey of Picasso’s work from the early figurative heads of 1902-3, the Cubist constructions of 1912-24, his carved and modelled figures of the 1930s, his bronze assemblages and ceramic sculptures of the 1940s and 1950s, to the sheet-metal cut-outs of more recent years. Describes Picasso’s analysis and dismemberment of forms, transforming rubble into sculpture, and conveys something of his inventive wit.
