Phyllotaxy: A Study of Spirals in Plants
- Synopsis
- Examines briefly the derivation of other natural spirals, then defines the phyllotactic spiral. Examines how phyllotactic spirals arise experimentally. Computer derived material is used for animation. The approach tends to be one of simple mathematical analysis of the forms and their development rather than an explanation of the underlying biological processes. Note: The film should only be used as part of a structured course on phyllotaxy - not as background material.
