Perspectives: French in Perspective

Synopsis

Part of a course consisting of eight themes, each covered by a video programme including a specially made documentary, an extract from French television and a drama that links the theme to language teaching. Thew themes have been chosen for their intrinsic interest and to provide opportunities for comparison with the student’s own personal experience. The course also includes 6 audiocassettes which provide opportunities for language practice, a book of video and audio transcripts, and a phonetics booklet. The materials are divided between two study packs. This second one looks at wider themes, inviting students to form their own opinions about local politics (Les affaires publiques), national development projects in France (Grands projets), changing roles in employment (Nouveau départ), and the impact of science and technology (Science et technologie).
