Periodic Table, The 1

Synopsis
The periodic table of the elements is an arrangement of the chemical elements in order of their atomic number. Elements of similar properties occur at regular intervals and fall into groups of related elements. In the past, chemists puzzled over the reasons why this should be, but today with a greater knowledge of atomic structure, chemists have a thorough understanding of periodic law.
