Peggy Angus

Synopsis
Peggy Angus is a woman artist who worked early this century and who represents a missing link in art and design history. In 1921 she was awarded a charity scholarship to the Royal College of Art where she became a close friend of Edward Bawden and Edward Ravilious. While undertaking a teaching diploma in her fourth year she was introduced to many of the ideas on art, society and education central to her work. At age 84 she remains strongly committed to her belief in the importance of people making their own art and the value of process against product. In the video Ms Angusshows some of her work in her cottage in East Sussex and in her London studio.
