Synopsis
Follows the progress of a parliamentary bill from the first parliamentary questions through the various stages of debate (including standing committees) in both Houses of Parliament. It shows how to marshal the bill and its amendments as it progresses through Parliament. Introduces Public General Statutes with an elementary guide to reading statutes and to locating the administrative instruments through which legislation is implemented. Uses the 1971 Immigration Act as an example.
