Pack Up the Troubles
- Synopsis
- Uses a specially commissioned MORI poll to assess how people in Britain view the continuing involvement of the government and army in Northern Ireland. Asks if a British government is capable of finding a solution to the problems of Northern Ireland. Argues that the British political establishment is part of the problem in Northern Ireland, not part of the solution. The large measure of agreement over Northern Ireland policy between the two main parties militates against any new thinking. Participants include Lord Prior, Lord Gowrie, Jon Snow, Robert Fisk, Ian Paisley, Peter Brooke, Kevin McNamara, Joseph Kennedy, Lord Colnbrook, Michael Mates, Stuart Bell, Peter Archer, Seamus Mallon.
