Out of Our Minds
- Synopsis
- Made at the 19th-century Fairfield Hospital in Letchworth, Herts, the video is based on the work of a group of Fairfield patients whose poems and writings offer a first-hand account of the experience of being mentally ill in hospital. Provides an insight into the debate into the closure of Victorian psychiatric hospitals and the rehabilitation of patients by means of ‘community care’.
