Synopsis
Late in 1996 archaeologists in the remote north-west Australia’s Northern Territory claimed to have found the oldest art in the world and evidence for the arrival of people in Australia three times earlier than previously believed. Investigates the dating of the find and shows how new discoveries in archaeology and human genetics are revealing unexpected connections between ourselves and a new distant ancestor from Australasia.
