Synopsis: Shows how the most dramatic phenomena that we see on the surface (photosphere) of the sun, such as sunspots and flares, are produced by still enigmatic invisible magnetic forces. Some of the most violent eruptions eject millions of tons of gas which can collide with the earth’s atmosphere, causing spectacular auroral displays around the magnetic poles. But is our star unique?
