Synopsis

Discusses the causes of wound infection, classification and identification of bacteria and the treatment of infection. Includes the development of antiseptics and antibiotics and discusses the rationale for the use of various types of antibacterial agents. The film was shot on location at Birmingham Accident Hospital and Lisson Grove Health Centre. A variety of clinical situations is shown.
