Organelles in the Living Plant Cell ('Allium Cepa’)
- Synopsis
- Using the upper epidermal cells of bulb scales from ‘Allium cepa’, shows the organisation of the living plant cell protoplasts in detail by light-field, dark-field and phase-contrast microscopy. The varying cytomorphological aspects and the differences in behaviour between the nucleus, leucoplasts, mitochondria and sperosomes in the living subject are shown to be cytological characteristics of the cell organelles.
