Synopsis
Uses graphics, demonstrations and live footage to look at the processes of oil refining: fractional distillation; petrol, kerosene, light oil, gas oil or diesel, lubricating oil, bitumen; detection and removal of sulphur dioxide; thermal cracking; straight chain, branched chain, cyclo-alkanes and aromatic hydrocarbons; isomerisation and catalytic reforming.
