Baby in a Frame

Synopsis
Charts the progress of a 6-month-old British baby born with a club foot as he undergoes orthopaedic treatment pioneered in Russia some 40 years ago but never before performed on such a young child. The technique involves inserting steel rods into the damaged limb and bolting a rigid, adjustable metal frame into the rods. The Ilizarov frame is kept in place for nine months, until the child begins walking.
