Oedipus the King

Synopsis
A performance of ‘Oedipus Rex’ translated and directed by Dr Harry Love, with music for the choruses by Michael Norris. Principal roles are played by professional actors; other parts by staff and students in the departments of Classics and Drama at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. The play aims to recreate the ethos of Greek life and religion, using traditional elements of Greek theatre to present this archetypal story of familial and divine jealousies and rivalries.
