Synopsis
A package for teaching the theory and techniques of observing behaviour. The student is taught how to observe individual and social behaviour in both animals and humans and is shown the advantages and pitfalls of different observational sampling methods. Necessary practical skills are taught through exercises requiring student interaction. Some exercises feature the setting up and use of a computerised event logger. Uses animation and video for the scenarios. Intended for use as a complement to or replacement for teaching and for part of a laboratory class. Approximately 2-3 hours required to fully complete the module.
