Nothing for Breakfast
- Synopsis
- Some children have to have teeth extracted with general anaesthetic. This video shows out-patient tooth extraction with un-intubated general anaesthesia in a community dental clinic. Emphasises teamwork by the whole staff to minimise both the risks of the procedure and the psychological trauma to the child. Shows the safety recommendations of the Poswillo Report ('General Anaesthesia, Sedation and Resuscitation in Dentistry: Report of an Expert Working Party’) as it applies to general anaesthesia. There are sections on pre-operative assessment and care; anaesthesia, monitoring and the airway; extractions; recovery.
