- Synopsis
- The series presents research in experimental psychology which reveals significant concepts and methods in the scientific study of behaviour. This film explores some of the ways in which psychologists developed new testing methods for measuring and increasing human capabilities. Lloyd Humphreys of the University of Illinois describes the first attempts by Alfred Binet in 1905 to measure the intelligence of French schoolchildren. He also demonstrates the development of aptitude tests to select Air Force flying trainees for World War 2.
