Natural Childbirth

Synopsis

Filmed at the Maternity Unit of the West London Hospital, Hammersmith. After a brief historical survey of the management of labour, six women deliver their babies in positions such as sitting, kneeling and squatting. The mothers discuss their experiences and emphasise the fulfilment they felt when allowed to choose and the lack of problems they and their attendants encountered.
