Systematic information on some 230 works owned by, and long-term loan to, the National Gallery in London, which houses a comprehensive collection of European paintings from the mid-13th to the early 20th century. Each pciture entry gives the title, date, attribution, inventory, number, medium, support and dimensions. The accompanying text describes the work’s subject matter, origin, funciton and provenance, and their is a brief biography for each artists, Every painting, and individual sections of each painting, can be displayed at high-level magnification.
