Automated Library Circulation System
- Synopsis
- Until recently libraries relied on clerical issue systems, such as slips completed by borrowers, to control the circulation of books. The Andersonian Library provides a solution to this problem: specialised terminals, supplied by Automated Library Systems Limited, are connected to the timesharing facilities of a computer. Shows the new circulation system in operation. Animations illustrate the principles of the timesharing system, and its application in the library.
