- Discusses the technological challenge of writing or drawing at the nanometre scale for digital information storage. Shows how scientists working with local probe microscopes can work with atoms, holes or charges. It is possible to explain the principles of the electrical, mechanical or magnetic techniques these scientists are using, but still difficult predict which type of writing will be applied in the future.
