Myogenesis

Synopsis
Deals with certain cytological events in the development, not of the tissue, but of individual muscle cells. In order to study these events as continuous processes, myoblasts are isolated from the developing tissue and cultured on solid substrata covered with an overlay of liquid medium. The film is a synthesis of a large number of cinematographic time-lapse recordings of the development of single muscle colonies. Phase contrast lighting was used for filming.
