Mycology. 2: Higher Fungi

Synopsis
Covers ascomycetes and basidiomycetes. Provides a readily available extensive audio-visual archive of mycological phenomena, many of which are documented on film for the first time. With around 350 film scenes and 300 freeze frames the disc covers the classes of ascomycetes and basidiomycetes and follows taxonomical arrangement. Characteristic features and developmental stages of different species are shown. The classes are each introduced by a characterising developmental cycle, consisting of scenes of different representative organisms. Many stages of fungal development, movement, growth and spore discharge have been captured by time-lapse and various other microscopic techniques. The material is arranged in chapters and can be accessed through a hierarchically structured menu system. With bilingual (German or English) commentary.
