Moving Still

Synopsis
Charts the development of stroboscopic photography and how it can show things which the naked eye would be unable to detect. MIT Professor Harold Edgerton shows how it is possible to recreate ‘living’ slow motion, making phenomena such as colliding droplets of falling water, visible to the unaided eye. Also shows a bullet leaving the barrel of a gun, the first instance of an atomic fireball, and speeded-up plant movement.
