Synopsis
A compilation from the unique collection of the North West Film Archive containing films of the region. Shows 1) a children’s outing from Altringcham to Mobberley (1909); 2) the London to Manchester ariel race (1910); 3) Whit Walk procession in Manchester (1912); workpeople leaving William Clegg’s textile mill, Milnrow (1913); an industrial Lancashire landscape made for the Oldham Master Cotton Spinners Association (1919); Messrs Barlow & Jones’ textile mills, Bolton (1919), HRH Prince of Wales’ visit to Bury (1921), Piccadilly Dance Salon (1924), Stalybridge Wakes Week (1927); Blackpool Promenade (1924); the Co-Operative Whlesale Society’s film of the aftermath of the Manchester Blitz (1940).
