Aurora Explained, The

Synopsis
Explains what the Northern Lights are, how they work and why and when they appear where they do. Shows Aurora borealis effects accompanied by music. The video data was gathered using a supersensitive colour television camera, and the sequences were selected from material collected at the Poker Flat Research station north of Fairbanks for use in scientific studies. Music composed by Gordon Wright and performed by the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra.
