Mother Love

Synopsis
Shows how Harry Harlow tested the reactions of newborn rhesus monkeys to a variety of unusual ‘mother substitutes’. Discusses his research on the effects of the denial of maternal love and his conclusions that depriving newborns of body contact, such as holding and nestling, can cause deep emotional disturbances.
