Synopsis
Demonstrates all the techniques involved in performing a fusion for the preparation of monoclonal antibodies. The viewer sees research worker preparing the necessary reagents and equipment, harvests and counting the spleen and myeloma cells, preparing peritoneal macrophage feeder cells, performing the fusion using polyethylene glycol (PEG), and plating the hybrids out of 24 and 96 well plates using HAT selection to remove unfused myeloma cells.
