Mitosis: Sending the Genetic Message

Synopsis
Shows mitosis occurring in plant and animal cells. Explains the development of a zygote and of clones. Micro-cinematography and time-lapse techniques show plant cells undergoing mitotic division (emphasising the nucleus to see the formation of chromosones). Animal cells (blood lymphocytes) are shown undergoing mitosis for comparison. Shows the process of creating a karyotype and explains the stsructure of a DNA mulecule and how DNA replication occurs.
