Mistaken Identity

Synopsis
Examines the psychiatric condition known as multiple personality disorder (MPD) through stories of diagnosed patients and interviews with friends of Sybil Dorsett, the subject of the film ‘Sybil’ (USA, 1976), that tells the allegedly true story of a woman whose childhood was so harrowing that she developed at least 16 different personalities. Serious doubts about the condition are being raised within the psychiatric community.
